We operate under UK company law and Community Interest Company regulations, with a clear commitment to delivering community benefit through education, skills development, design, and technology

Community Purpose and Asset Lock

The Hwb Collective CIC exists to benefit the community, not for private profit.

Any income, surplus, or assets generated are reinvested into delivering our purpose, supporting accessible learning, creativity, and community-led initiatives.

As a CIC, we operate under an asset lock, meaning:

  • Company assets cannot be used for private gain
  • Profits must be used to support community benefit
  • Any remaining assets, if the company closes, must be transferred to another asset-locked organisation

This is set out within our Articles of Association and governed by CIC regulations

Governance and Accountability

The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors who are collectively responsible for decision-making, legal compliance, and protecting the company’s purpose.

The current Board includes:

  • Grant Parry – Founding Director
  • Claudia Evan-Jones – Non-Executive Director (Compliance and Wellbeing)
  • Dr Daniel Sitaranjan – Non-Executive Director (Compliance and Wellbeing)

All directors share equal legal responsibility, with decisions made collectively and recorded formally

We operate with:

  • Transparent decision-making
  • Recorded board decisions
  • Independent oversight from non-executive directors
  • Clear separation between governance and day-to-day operations

Safeguarding Commitment

We are committed to safeguarding children, young people, and all participants involved in our activities.

This includes:

  • Clear safeguarding leadership and reporting procedures
  • Appropriate supervision and risk assessment
  • Safe online and in-person delivery practices
  • Immediate reporting and escalation of concerns

Safeguarding is treated as a core responsibility across all activities and takes priority over operational convenience

Data Protection and Privacy

We process personal data in line with:

We ensure that personal data is:

  • Collected lawfully and transparently

  • The decision will be reviewed by non-conflicted directors

This ensures fairness, transparency, and trust in all decisions

Whistleblowing

We encourage anyone involved with the organisation to raise concerns about:

  • Unsafe or unethical practices

All concerns are:

There is zero tolerance for retaliation against individuals raising concerns
